X-ray Provides Accurate Product Inspection
The Challenges
Tobacco farmers know the challenges they are faced with every day in harvesting tobacco leaves and packaging contaminant free pouches. Challenges such as:
- Physical contamination – contaminants can be introduced when harvesting the raw ingredients or during the production process. Typical contaminants include stone, metal and glass.
- Component count – detection of missing pouches inside a packed carton.
- Mass measurement – total weight measurement of the carton to meet quality standards.
Solution
The Eagle™ Pack 430 PRO provides unsurpassed foreign body detection for stainless steel, metal and stone contaminants with the use of x-ray inspection technology. The addition of SimulTask™ PRO, enhanced image analysis software, helps to provide accurate product inspection and precise total weight for loose leaf tobacco pouches. X-ray inspection equipment can also detect physical contaminants even if the loose leaf tobacco is packaged within metalized foil pouches. It is not affected by package type, product density or production line speed—making it the right choice for tobacco manufacturers.
