Find hard-to-find contaminants with Dual Energy Detection

Dual energy x-ray enhances traditional inspection solutions and allows for the detection of materials previously unseen by x-ray or any other conventional method. This technology gives more detail in the inspection image and is best used for applications that cause ‘busy’ images with varied density distribution. Dual energy diverges from regular x-ray inspection as it uses two energy spectrums to discriminate between high and low channel x-rays, along with a dual-layer detector. Eagle PI uses two different dual energy x-ray detectors to maximize inspection capabilities for hard-to-find-contaminants in applications such as poultry, seafood, red meat and bags of salad or trail mix.

Performance X-ray Technology

The latest advancement for food inspection with an added layer to dual energy photon-counting x-ray technology. This offers significant proven performance for superior detection of bones and other contaminants.

Material Discrimination X-ray

Dual energy x-ray detection creates easy-to-read imaging which helps discriminate between contaminants such as glass, low-density plastics, rubber or stones and rocks.

Single Energy or Dual Energy: Which is Right for You?

Dual energy x-ray inspection  gives more detail in the inspection image and is best used for applications that cause ‘busy’ images with varied density distribution. But what is the real difference between traditional methods and dual energy?

If you are unsure which technology is right for your specific application, have a look at our explanatory white paper which outlines the differences between single and dual energy technologies for physical contamination.
