Shanghai, China, July 2016 – Eagle Product Inspection (Eagle) will be demonstrating its advanced contaminant detection solutions at ProPak China, to be held in Shanghai from 13-15 July (Hall N5, Stand 5B22). Momentum continues to gather in the country with regard to demand for packaged food, due largely to rising disposable income levels and urbanization, and food safety is now higher on the agenda than ever before. Eagle is able to offer solutions to support ever stringent safety regulations, put in place to protect consumers from sub-standard products, and to enable manufacturers to mitigate the risks of costly product recalls and damage to brand reputation.
A recent Euromonitor report[i] suggested that food safety concerns will ‘continue to encourage an ongoing shift from unpackaged to packaged food’ in the region, therefore Eagle has continued to build its network of channel partners in China to facilitate the increased need for both x-ray and metal detection technology. Eagle offers complete inline inspection solutions, enabling manufacturers to optimize production processes in order to maximize profits, ensure product safety and consistently produce high quality products.
X-ray technology
On stand at ProPak China, visitors can experience a live demonstration of the Eagle™ Tall PRO XSDV, a dual view x-ray system designed to detect and remove a wide range of small contaminants located in rigid and glass containers. For manufacturers who require a system for mid-sized packaged products and multi-lane applications, the Eagle™ Pack 430 PRO will also be on display. The multi-functional abilities of Eagle x-ray systems are perfectly suited to the Chinese market, where segments such as bakery, snacks, seafood, confectionery, dairy and infant formula are strong. For bulk products such as sugar, information on the Eagle Bulk series is available. The Bulk 415 PRO is ideal for this application due to its unique cupped belt design. This promotes uniformity of flow and reduces spillage of the product, which helps to reduce waste levels.
Advanced x-ray technology offers superior detection of contaminants while simultaneously performing product integrity checks – such as mass measurement, seal inspection and component counts. Contaminants such as glass, metal, calcified bone and some plastics will be identified and rejected before they can reach the retail supply chain. In addition, multi-lane inspection capabilities enable manufacturers to inspect multiple lanes of the same or completely dissimilar products. Alternatively one lane can be used for production while the other is used for rework – saving on wastage and increasing profitability. When used in conjunction with Eagle SimulTask™ PRO software, the need for manual changeovers is also eliminated, minimizing downtime.
Metal Detection
The H-Series metal detector will also be on display at stand 5B22. A cost-effective system which is ideal for the inspection of wet or dry products, this versatile metal detector benefits from multiple, ultra-high and tuned frequency combinations. Exceptional levels of detection sensitivity can be achieved, with excellent stability and a robust construction. Metal detection solutions are used extensively in the food processing and packaging industries to safeguard consumers from the effects of metal contamination, and also ensure quality control and manufacturing efficiency across a wide variety of wet and dry products in all formats – from packaged, conveyorised products to loose, unpackaged goods.
For manufacturers looking to keep the footprint of equipment to a minimum, the H-Series is ideal. Compact and robust, the system is designed to provide a reliable and consistently high performance – even in the harshest environments. IP69K sealing also enables the system to support hygiene programs and harsh washdown regimes.
Fat Analysis (FA)
The meat industry is an area in which Eagle has considerable expertise. Inline FA systems allow both slaughterhouses and processors to maximize yield through the accurate measurement of Chemical Lean (CL) – which is accurate to +/- 1 CL – and weight, which is critical for batch and recipe management. In addition, FA systems simultaneously check product for physical contaminants. All tasks are carries out inline, meaning 100% of throughput can be inspected in real time with no reduction in overall production speed.
Somchai Chakornsiri, Head of Asia Pacific, Eagle Product Inspection China, commented: “With the regulatory landscape evolving rapidly in China, product inspection has never been more important for food manufacturers. The ability of Eagle systems to perform multiple tasks simultaneously ensures production speeds are kept to a maximum, at the same time ensuring that products sent into the retail supply chain are of a consistently high quality and pose no risk to consumer health.”
Eagle Product Inspection will be at ProPak China from 13-15 July – Hall N5 Stand 5B22. Please visit our experts on the stand to discuss your product inspection requirements.
