Eagle Product Inspection will exhibit solutions that help meat and poultry companies enhance product safety, quality and traceability during PACK EXPO International, Oct. 14-17 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Eagle’s display at Booth S-1721 spotlights systems that provide superior contaminant detection and product quality assessments, and the company’s thought leaders will be on hand to share their technical know-how, new innovations and inspection performance.
One of the systems to be highlighted is the Eagle™ FA3/M, a multi-application x-ray system that performs inline fat measurement and contaminant detection for fresh, chilled and frozen meat products. In addition to fat analysis, the FA3/M conducts mass measurement, protein analysis and moisture calculations for both carton and bulk flow meat.
The effective multi-functionality of the FA3/M machine stems from the use of Eagle’s third-generation refinement of its Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) technology. That technology allows processors to discriminate between fat and lean portions of 100% of product throughput and provides Chemical Lean (CL) measurements to better than +/- 1CL accuracy of all meat products. The machine also uses x-ray imaging geometry to enable meat to be scanned from the bottom with a detector over the product to further enhance containment detection and the precision of measurements.
“Versatility is increasingly important to today’s meat and poultry companies. The Eagle FA3/M is designed to perform more inspections and checks in harsh processing environments,” says Simon King, Head of Global Sales, Service & Marketing, Eagle Product Inspection. “It’s also the inline fat analysis system with the smallest factory floor footprint in the industry.”
The Eagle FA3/M is supported by intelligent software. The system uses Eagle’s proprietary SimulTask™ PRO imaging software that ensures compliance with stringent HACCP principles and global safety regulations through sophisticated on-screen diagnostics, advanced image analyses and quality assurance traceability. Optional TraceServer™ software provides users with real-time monitoring and the archiving of inspection statistics, product images and reports.
In addition to the FA3/M, Eagle will demonstrate other advanced inspection systems at PACK EXPO International, including the new, next-generation EPX100 for packaged goods, which uses less energy in a smaller footprint, and the Eagle Tall PRO XS with conveyor, which provides 100% inline inspection for hard-to-find contaminants in cans, bottles and jars.
Throughout PACK EXPO International, Eagle’s experts will be on hand to share their insights and advice, including thought leaders featured in a new “Eagle Speaks” Docu-series.
