X-ray inspection expert strengthens management team to support sales channels and new product development
Tampa, Florida, January, 2013 – Leading x-ray inspection equipment supplier Eagle Product Inspection (Eagle) has marked an important step in the implementation of its continued focused growth strategy. The company has appointed experts to two newly created roles to strengthen its support for food and beverage manufacturers and processors as well as its worldwide distributor network. Simon King joins Eagle as Global Head Sales, Service and Marketing, while Kyle Thomas has been appointed Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Manager, Eagle X-ray. Following a year of expansion and innovation for Eagle in 2012, these team additions will help Eagle continue to focus on growing market share in new and emerging markets and developing new x-ray solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of food and beverage companies.
As Global Head Sales, Service and Marketing, Simon King will be responsible for direct and partner channel development, shaping the direction of Eagle’s marketing strategy to continue to expand the company’s global reach and better serve customers through relationships such as the recently announced partnership with Schur in Brazil. Simon brings significant relevant skills and experience to this role, having developed and worked closely with direct sales teams, distributors and OEM partners globally in the electronics and printing sectors, most recently as Director, Global Sales and Marketing in a division of Elbit Systems. Prior to this Simon held a number of senior, multi-national roles with Domino Printing Sciences.
In his role as SBU Manager, Eagle X-ray, Kyle Thomas will focus on research and development, expanding Eagle’s product portfolio to meet the demands of existing customers and prospects in the food and beverage manufacturing and processing market, with a strong focus on developing Eagle’s fat analysis technology. Kyle and his team will build upon on the success of Eagle’s product launches in 2012, including two new x-ray inspection systems, the EAGLE™ Pack 240 XE for small and medium sized food manufacturing and processing enterprises, and the hygienically designed EAGLE™ Pack 400 HC for the meat, dairy and poultry sectors. Kyle brings extensive experience and a high level of business acumen to this role, developed over 28 years with Mettler-Toledo, who acquired Eagle Product Inspection in early 2011. Kyle has held senior positions in various parts of the business, most recently as Marketing Head at Mettler-Toledo Hi-Speed in the United States.
Kristian Laskey, Business Head X-ray, Mettler-Toledo, said: “This announcement marks an important step in the continued growth of the Eagle brand, which has gone from strength to strength in the last two years. We are committed to continuing to invest in the development of the company’s sales channels and product portfolio. Simon and Kyle will both play a key part in this next exciting chapter for Eagle Product Inspection.”
